Welcome to the Capital Region Mental Health & Addictions Association

The Capital Region Mental Health & Addictions Association is a strong advocate for persons with mental illness and their families. The program responds to:

  • Persons with long-term mental health problems have the right to appropriate care, treatment and rehabilitation within the least restrictive environment. They have the right to remain in their own community whenever possible.
  • Government, caregivers, the voluntary sector and individuals must work together to improve quality of life for mental health consumers.
  • Continuing public education is necessary to sensitize society and to fight the stigma of chronic mental illness.
  • Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training

ASIST is a two day interactive and practical certification in suicide first aid. You can find out more about the program here. Over 1 million people have been certified worldwide. Currently no workshops are scheduled. If you would like to be notified of upcoming workshops please email This email address is being protected from spambots.
